White House Decries 'Democrat Fabrication' as Further Epstein Estate Photos Disclosed
Democratic lawmakers have made public a fresh batch of what they labeled "disturbing" images from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 photographs—some of which have been seen before—plus another 70 unveiled later on Friday constitute a small number of the approximately 100,000 images released to the House investigative panel, which is looking into the actions and ties of Epstein.
The fallen money manager died by apparent suicide in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking crimes.
Notable Figures in the Images
Included in the high-profile individuals seen in the first release are public figures including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump appears in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is photographed with six women, whose faces are obscured.
Administration Statement
The White House responded to the release in a statement, charging Democrats of purposefully "cherry-picking" the photographs for partisan aims and to "seek to establish a false storyline."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked," an administration official said, insisting that "the current government has accomplished more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have ever done by frequently urging openness, disclosing reams of records, and urging additional probes into Epstein's Democrat friends."
Democratic Lawmaker Remarks
The photographs were published devoid of explanation, but per a California Democrat and senior member of the investigative panel, they raise more questions about Epstein's links with affluent people.
"The moment has come to halt this White House concealment and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he said in a statement.
The disclosure of these materials occurs alongside the oversight committee continuing its inquiry into the affair.
