The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem out of place, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then settled his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the influential clan could enable the group enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Planners groups.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
